😍Why You’ll Love It

This jalapeno ranch dip recipe is:

  • Super easy to make – Just blend and chill!
  • Creamy with a kick – Perfect balance of spice and smooth ranch flavor.
  • Versatile – Use it as a dip, dressing, or even a sauce for tacos!
  • Better than store-bought – No weird ingredients, just fresh and delicious flavors!

👨‍🍳Helpful Tips

  • Blend well – You want a super smooth, creamy consistency.
  • Let it chill – The flavors get even better after at least an hour in the fridge.
  • Too thick? Add more buttermilk until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Too spicy? Use fewer jalapenos or add a bit more sour cream to mellow it out.

✅What You’ll Need

  • Pickled Jalapenos – Adjust the amount to control the spice level.
  • Cilantro – Adds fresh, herby brightness.
  • Tomatillos (Optional) – Gives a hint of tangy depth.
  • Buttermilk – Makes it smooth and creamy (add more for a thinner consistency).
  • Ranch Seasoning – The classic base for that ranch flavor.
  • Mayonnaise & Sour Cream – The creamy dream team.
  • Garlic Powder – Just the right touch of savory depth.
  • Lime Juice (Optional) – Brightens the flavors.

🔪How to Make Chuy’s Jalapeno Ranch Dip

Blend the Base – In a food processor, combine pickled jalapenos, cilantro, tomatillos (if using), and buttermilk. Blend until smooth.

Add the Creamy Ingredients – Add in the ranch seasoning, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Squeeze in the lime juice if using.

Blend Again – Process everything until creamy and well combined. If you prefer a thinner texture, gradually add more buttermilk until it’s just right.

🍽️How to Use Jalapeno Ranch Sauce

This jalapeno ranch sauce recipe isn’t just for dipping—here are some tasty ways to use it:

  • Chips & Fries – The ultimate dip for tater tots, fries, and chips!
  • Tacos & Burritos – Drizzle it over your favorite Mexican dishes.
  • Burgers & Sandwiches – Use it as a creamy, flavorful spread.
  • Salads – Thin it out with more buttermilk for a jalapeno ranch salad dressing.

🗄️Storage & Leftovers

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Stir before serving, as it may thicken over time. Not recommended for freezing due to the dairy-based ingredients.

How can I make homemade ranch thicker?

To thicken homemade ranch, try using less buttermilk or more mayonnaise and sour cream. You can also mix in a small amount of cream cheese or Greek yogurt for a richer consistency. Letting it chill in the fridge for a few hours will also help it thicken naturally.

Can you freeze homemade ranch dressing?

Freezing is not recommended because the dairy-based ingredients (like mayo and buttermilk) can separate and become grainy when thawed. For the best texture and flavor, it’s best to make a fresh batch as needed.

Does ranch dressing have eggs?

This ranch sauce contains eggs because mayonnaise is a key ingredient. However, you can make egg-free versions using Greek yogurt, sour cream, or dairy-based substitutes.

Is ranch dressing keto-friendly?

Yes! This homemade Chuy’s Jalapeño Ranch is keto-friendly since it’s made with mayonnaise, sour cream, and fresh herbs, all of which are low in carbs.
