This Beef in Oyster Sauce is a quick and easy Chinese-style stir fry thatโs perfect for busy weeknights. Beef in Oyster Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean beef steak, flank, sirloin, or rump, sliced thinly into 2-inch long strips
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped spring onions
For the Marinade:
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
Instructions
- Place the sliced beef in a bowl, add all the marinade ingredients (1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 1 tablespoon Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry, 2 teaspoons cornstarch), and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for about 20 minutes.
- Heat a wok or large frying pan over high heat until itโs very hot. Add 1 tablespoon avocado oil and, once it begins to shimmer and smoke slightly, add the beef. Stir-fry for 3โ5 minutes until itโs just browned.
- Pour in 3 tablespoons oyster sauce and stir well to coat everything in the sauce. Cook further for 1 minute.
- Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with 2 tablespoons finely chopped spring onions, and serve immediately.
