What Youโ€™ll Need For The Best Baked Salmon with Vegetables

When it comes to salmon, you donโ€™t need fancy ingredients. Letโ€™s chat about it!

Salmon: You can make it with salmon steaks or fillets or even a side of salmon. Trout will work as well!

Potatoes: It usually takes about 35-40 minutes to roast potatoes until tender. We recommend to pre-cook potatoes and broccoli. Simply boil in a large pot of salted water until tender for 7-8 minutes and you are good to go!

Broccoli: If you donโ€™t like broccoli, use asparagus, cauliflower or mushroom.

Butter: We like to use butter for a buttery taste, but vegetable oil (like Canola) is a great alternative.

Salt and pepper: Adjust the amount to your taste.

Garlic: I am using 2 tablespoons of minced/chopped garlic. Feel free to use less or more!

Lemon juice: Any fish is better with lemon juice, it adds that bright zesty touch.

What is The Best Temperature For Baking Salmon

Always bring salmon to room temperature before baking. This helps with even cooking.

We find that baking salmon at 400ยฐ F|200ยฐC keeps the salmon moist and prevents overcooking.

  • Cook normal size steaks/fillets for 13-14 minutes.
  • Larger pieces need 13-15 minutes.
  • Cook a whole side of salmon for 15-16 minutes.

Pro tip: Salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork. Alternatively, you can use an instant-read thermometer. The internal temperature should be 140ยฐF (60ยฐC).

How to Store and Reheat The Leftover Salmon

You can store the leftover salmon and vegetables in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Alternatively, freeze it for 3-4 months.

If you prefer to freeze it, make sure it is cool. Line a container with parchment paper to prevent salmon from sticking to it. Reheat LOW and SLOW in microwave or oven for the best results.
