Garlic Butter Baked Salmon is tender, flaky and packed with lots of flavors. Salmon fillets are baked with potato wedges, asparagus in an incredible buttery lemony sauce. A restaurant quality meal made in one sheet. It is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
This salmon is absolutely out of the world, and best of all you need just a few ingredients to make a delicious complete meal the whole family will love. And no mess in the kitchen as it is a one sheet dish.
Baked Salmon
Baked salmon is one of the easiest but most delicious meals you can make. I truly believe that salmon should be on a menu list at every house, especially if you have kids because it is an excellent source of the omega-3 fatty acids, high in protein, vitamin D and low in saturated fat.
I know many people will choose pan-searing to get crispy salmon on the outside. But, guys, even baking method can deliver the same result. You need to choose the right temperature (I baked salmon at 400°F | 200°C) and broil salmon in the last few minutes for crispier exterior and charred edges.
How Long to Bake Salmon at 400?
Pre-heat your oven to 400°F | 200°C. You will need to bake this garlic butter salmon for 10 minutes until it is opaque through and then broil for another 2 minutes.
How to Bake Garlic Butter Salmon?
What I love most about this salmon recipe is that you prepare it in one pan/sheet. Method at glance looks like this:
- Arrange quartered potatoes on a baking sheet, season with garlic, salt and pepper and bake until they are about to soften. Why to cook potatoes first? Simply because potatoes need more time than salmon in the oven. Once potatoes are almost cooked, push them to one side of the baking sheet/pan.
- Place salmon fillets in the middle of the sheet/pan, rub each fillet with garlic-parsley mixture. Season with salt and ground black pepper.
- Put asparagus as well.
- Drizzle everything with lemony garlic butter sauce.
- Bake until salmon fillets are cooked through, about 10 minutes.
I prefer to use salmon with the skin, it really helps fillets to hold together and retain moisture. After cooking it is really easy to remove the skin using a fork.
How to Make Garlic Butter Sauce?
This lemon garlic butter sauce is out of this world and goes so well with baked salmon. Simply combine all the ingredients for the sauce and pour over the salmon fillets and asparagus. You can substitute butter with olive oil or any oil of your choice and parsley with cilantro. The recipe is customizable.
How to Store Garlic Butter Baked Salmon?
You can keep it in the fridge up to 3-4 days.
Can I customize this recipe?
Yes! If you don’t have asparagus, use broccoli or mushrooms. Butter can be replaced with olive oil or ghee, and cilantro/ dill will work well. The recipe is adaptable.
