✅ Ingredient Notes
- Flank or Skirt Steak: Both work great, but be sure to slice the steak thinly against the grain for the most tender texture. This makes a big difference in how easy and enjoyable it is to eat.
- Bell Peppers & Onions: Slice them evenly so they cook at the same rate. You don’t want undercooked veggies with perfectly cooked steak.
- Olive Oil: Toss the steak and veggies in olive oil to help them crisp up and prevent sticking in the air fryer.
- Fajita Seasoning: Use your favorite store-bought seasoning or easily make your own with chili powder, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder. Make sure everything is coated well for maximum flavor.
- Garlic: Grating the garlic ensures it blends smoothly with the seasoning. Minced garlic can also work, but grating gives a finer texture.
- Tortillas: Warm your tortillas just before serving—whether in the microwave, oven, or on a skillet—for the best texture and flavor.

Prep Like a Pro: Make-Ahead Tips
- Fajita Seasoning: Mix up your fajita seasoning ahead of time—it’ll keep for up to 6 months in a cool, dark spot!
- Marinate the Steak: Cut and marinate the steak up to 24 hours in advance for max flavor.
- Veggies: Pre-slice the veggies and store them in the fridge for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container, ready to go when you are!
👨🍳Expert Tips
- Don’t Overcrowd the Basket: For the crispiest results, make sure the steak and veggies have enough room to cook evenly. If needed, cook in batches—this keeps everything from steaming and ensures that perfect char.
- Thin Slices, Big Flavor: Slice your steak thin and against the grain for the most tender bites. This trick makes all the difference in texture and how well the steak soaks up the seasoning.
- Shake It Up: Give the air fryer basket a good shake halfway through cooking. This ensures even cooking and helps the veggies crisp up perfectly.

🗄️Storing & Reheating Steak Fajitas
Let the fajitas cool to room temp, then stash them in an airtight container in the fridge—they’ll stay good for 3-4 days. When you’re ready to enjoy them again, just reheat in the microwave, skillet, or air fryer until warmed through and ready to serve!

These fajitas were so easy to make! The steak was perfectly tender, and the air fryer gave it just the right char. I added some extra bell peppers, and the flavor was spot on!

These have become a favorite in my home with my teens (15, 17 & 19). Thank you for the recipe! Before, I was making mine in the cast iron skillet. Although they were good, I wasn’t able to keep this kind of tenderness whilst still getting a perfect char. I feel that the air fryer only gives this combination. I usually use steak and chicken and make my own homemade fajita seasoning. Sometimes I’ll add shrimp and andouille sausage too. Absolute perfection😘
