Perfect frozen waffle fries in air fryer! Wondering how to make perfectly crispy, tasty waffle fries in the comfort of your own home? It’s super simple, and with an air fryer, you can have yourself some waffle fries in less than ten minutes. No need to thaw them out - these will work straight out of the freezer, into the air fryer, and served piping hot onto your plate.

How Do You Cook Frozen Waffle Fries in Air Fryer?
First of all, forget about adding any extra oil. You can add a light spray of oil if you really want extra crispy fries, but really you don’t need any extra. That also means you don’t end up adding heaps of unnecessary calories to the meal.
This is much quicker than preheating an oven or chopping up potatoes yourself. All you need to do is add your frozen waffle fries to the air fryer and in 8-10 minutes you’ll have crispy, crunchy, tasty fries ready to eat.
With a bit of seasoning or the addition of your favorite dip, you’re pretty much ready to go!

Do You Need to Oil Spray the Fries?
There is really no need to add any extra oil to the fries. The frozen waffle fries are already pretty much deep fried, so additional oil is simply not necessary. If you prefer a crispier, oilier fry like some American takeout places, then sure, go ahead. That’s up to you. We don’t recommend it, however.

How To Make Frozen Waffle Fries
Various brands of frozen waffle fries vary widely in thickness, size, and coating. You might need to adjust timing and temperature accordingly, and of course the size of your air fryer will have an effect too.
When using a smaller air fryer of less than 5qt, a pound of fries is about the most you’d want to do. As always, avoid overcrowding the air fryer as that’s a great way to cook them unevenly.
As a general rule of thumb, avoid filling the air fryer basket beyond the halfway mark. Any more than that and you’ll end up with unevenly cooked fries. Air fryers work best by circulating hot air across the food. If your fries are touching each other, the air can’t get to all the surface area of the food! That’s why it’s best to cook in batches if you’re cooking a large amount of fries.

Air Fryer Temperature and Time
We recommend cooking your waffle fries for about ten minutes at 356 F |180 C. About four minutes in, shake your air fryer basket before returning to the fryer and finishing the cooking.
If you end up cooking multiple batches, we have some good news for you. Although air fryers, unlike large conventional ovens, don’t need to be preheated, they do take a few moments to warm up. Your subsequent batches of fries will take a shorter time to cook than the first batch as fryer space will already be warm!
Be sure to set a timer for your flipping time so you can get the perfect air fries every time.
