2. Chilling the filling: Chilling the filling in important in no-bake cheesecakes. After preparing the filling, you should chill for at least four hours. Better still, you can chill overnight. While chilling the important, this is not synonymous to freezing. Freezing will make it hard and uneasy to spread.
3. Mix carefully: Since there won’t be oven-baking in the process. It is important that you mix lightly. Regardless of whether you will be using a mixer, you should be careful not to over-mix. Having a too consistent crust might result in cracking.
4. Avoid cold cream: For a perfect integration of all ingredients used for the filling, it is advisable to use creams at room temperature. Using cold creams may result in the lumps forming in the filling. Therefore, prior to the preparation, remove your cream from the refrigerator.
5. Preserving the leftovers: Cheesecakes are very susceptible to spoilage. Whenever you notice you might have a leftover, move the leftover to your refrigerator. However, it should be consumed within 24 hours of refrigeration. Since it’s a fairly easy recipe, you can save costs by preparing in small batches.
HOW TO MAKE ORANGE CHEESECAKE
NO BAKE ORANGE CHEESECAKE
Ingredients
- FOR THE CRUST
- Butter cookie crumbs- 1 ¼ cup
- Unsalted butter melted- 3 tbsp.
- FOR THE FILLING
- Orange juice- ½ cup
- Powdered gelatin- 7.5 gm
- Cream cheese softened-750 gm or 1 ½ lbs
- Granulated sugar- ¾ cup
- Vanilla extract- 1 tsp.
- Orange zest grated-¼ tsp.
- FOR DECORATION
- Whipping cream whipped- 1 cup
- Grated orange zest - as needed
Instructions
- Crust. Combine butter cookie crumbs and butter in a large bowl. Press into bottom of your spring-form and freeze.
- Heat the orange juice in the microwave. Add gelatin powder and allow to stand for 1 minute. Stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Set aside to cool.
- Beat cream cheese and sugar on medium-high speed until very smooth, about 3 minutes. Slowly mix in the orange juice.
- Stir in vanilla extract and orange zest.
- Remove the crust from freezer. Pour the filling over frozen crust, smoothing out the sides of pan.
- Cover with plastic and refrigerate for at least 6-7 hours before decorating or serving.
- Run a hot knife around edge of pan to loosen.
- Decoration.
- Ice top of the cheesecake with whipped cream. Pipe rosettes around top of the cheesecake.
- Sprinkle with orange zest.
- Enjoy!
