Youโ€™ll love the convenience and the speed of making your samosa in the air fryer! Youโ€™ll have delicious, crispy samosa on the table in only 15 minutes.

You can serve samosas with a chutney dipping sauce, or on their own as a tasty entree to a bigger meal. Because weโ€™re using an air fryer, we donโ€™t need to use as much oil as with other prep methods, and you wonโ€™t take as long to cook them either. In fact, you can have your frozen samosas ready in only 15 minutes!

You’ll Need

To make this dish, you need your frozen samosa, the air fryer, and some lining for the air fryer basket. You can use parchment paper or a baking paper, or one of the various reusable air fryer basket liners available.

How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Samosa

  • Set your samosa in the air fryer basket. Youโ€™ll want to line the basket with parchment paper or a reusable air fryer silicon liner. Spray the tops of your little parcels with some cooking spray, set your temperature to 350 F, and cook for eight to ten minutes.
  • Halfway through – so at either 8 minutes or 10 – use a pair of tongs to flip each samosa.
  • Once theyโ€™re golden brown, you can serve the samosa with dipping sauce of your choice.
Where To Buy Frozen Samosa?

Plenty of grocery stores and supermarkets sell samosas in the frozen section. You can also buy them online if you want, or alternatively try heading into a specialty grocer. Youโ€™ll often find the best Indian food in smaller stores run by Indian families, so if your city has one of those stores itโ€™s worth checking out.
In the United Kingdom, itโ€™s common to see Indian and Pakistani street vendors selling handmade samosas that have been frozen for consumption later. If youโ€™re lucky, you might be able to find something similar where you live, and get the truly authentic samosa experience.

Do You Need to Defrost Samosas Before Air Frying?

No! You can actually get a better flavor by putting the frozen samosa straight into your air fryer. Defrosting samosa can actually make them a little soggy and bland, a far cry from the spicy, aromatic, crispy samosa we all know and love. The other benefit of putting the samosa straight into the air fryer is that it saves a lot of downtime that you would otherwise spend waiting for the food to defrost.

What Sauce to Serve with Samosa?

Typically, in India, samosa is served with a dipping sauce. We recommend:
ย
Rani Samosa Chutney
Patakโ€™s Major Grey Chutney
Garlic Chutney

How To Reheat Samosa

If you have any samosa left over, you might want to reheat them to eat at a later date.

To do this, first youโ€™ll need to let them cool to room temperature. Once cooled, place your samosa in an airtight container and refrigerate. They will keep in the fridge for two to three days.

When you want to reheat the samosa, simply put your leftovers in the air fryer basket and fry for 3-5 minutes at 380 F.
