Ingredients

  • cup honey
  • cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 ring kielbasa sausage sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • Cilantro or parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Make the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Marinate the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to a bowl or zip-top bag with ⅓ of the sauce. Toss to coat. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Cook the Broccoli: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the broccoli and a splash of water, and cook for about 5 minutes or until tender. Remove and set aside, covered to keep warm.
  • Cook the Sausage: In the same skillet, add the remaining oil. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes. Transfer to the plate with the broccoli.
  • Cook the Shrimp: Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet (discard the marinade). Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove and add to the same plate.
  • Thicken the Sauce: Whisk 2 teaspoons of cornstarch into the remaining sauce until smooth. Pour the sauce into the skillet and simmer for 1–2 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  • Combine and Serve: Return the cooked shrimp, sausage, and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat in the sauce. Serve over white rice and garnish with chopped cilantro, if desired.
