- Ghee- 3 tbsp.
- Whole peppercorns-14
- Black cardamon- 2
- Basmati rice-2 cups
- Salt- 1/2 tsp or as needed
- Fresh dill finely chopped-1/2 cup
- Water- 2 cups
Rinse Rice: Rinse basmati rice under cold running water until water is clear. Drain rice really well as the ration of rice to water in instant pot is crucial.
Pressure Cook Rice: Add ghee, peppercorns, black cardamon and rice. Mix well. Then, add dill leaves and mix again. Season with salt. Add 2 cups of cold water in instant pot, close the lid, turn venting knob and chose "Pressure Cook" mode, setting time for 4 minutes.
Once rice is cooked, allow natural air release for 5 minutes. Open the lid and fluff the rice with a spoon or fork.
Serve immediately.
