This easy apple crumble (apple crisp) is seriously amazing! Cinnamon tender apples baked in a delicious syrup underneath a perfectly buttery, crumbly oatmeal topping.

Ingredients

  • For the Filling
  • Medium apples peeled, cored and sliced-10
  • White sugar-1/4 cup
  • Light brown sugar- 2 tablespoons
  • All-purpose flour- 1 tablespoon
  • Ground cinnamon-3/4 teaspoon
  • Water- 1/4 cup
  • For the Crumb
  • Rolled oats or quick-cooking oats- 1 1/4 cup
  • All-purpose flour-1 1/4 cup
  • Light brown sugar- 1 cup
  • Ground cinnamon-1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder-1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter melted-3/4 cup (180 g)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) with the rack in the middle of the oven.  Slightly grease a 9×13-inch (22x 33-cm) baking dish. Keep aside.
  • Place  the sliced apples into a large bowl,  add white sugar, brown sugar, all-purpose flour and  cinnamon. Pour in the water and mix well to evenly coat apples. Transfer into a prepared baking dish.
  • In another bowl combine the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and melted butter. Mix until the dry ingredients absorb the butter. Sprinkle evenly over the apples.
  • Bake in preheated oven  for 45-50 minutes or until the crumb is crispy and golden brown. Enjoy!
