Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • Lemon wedges optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring, until fragrant.
  • Pour in the broth and let the liquid simmer and reduce by half.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream.
  • Stir occasionally and let it gently simmer.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the Parmesan cheese and let the sauce simmer for another minute, stirring until the cheese melts.
  • Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust salt and pepper to your liking.
  • Finish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for that extra burst of flavor.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm it in a skillet over low heat, stirring occasionally. Add a splash of broth or cream to loosen the sauce if needed. Avoid overheating to keep the shrimp tender.
