Description

Learn How to Make Almond Milk from scratch. It is a silky-smooth, creamy and delicious vegan milk, made with just a few ingredients. This easy dairy-free milk is perfect for smoothies like Acai Bowl, coffee and granola. Ready in 10 minutes! Best of all you can control the sweetness and play with flavors.

Ingredients

PLAIN ALMOND MILK

  • Raw almonds (  soaked overnight in cold water*)- 1 cup
  • Drinking water- 5 cups
  • Salt- 1/4 tsp.
  • Dates (pitted)- 3
  • Vanilla extract- 1 tsp.
  • Vanilla powder- 1/2 tsp.

FOR CHOCOLATE MILK

Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp.

FOR FLAVORED MILK

Berries/ strawberries/ raspberries - 1/2 cup

Instructions

  • In a blender  blend together soaked almonds, water, dates, vanilla extract and vanilla powder sugar on high speed for 2-3 minutes.
  • Using a cheesecloth or a nut milk bag, strain out the pulp. If you use a cheesecloth, simply lay it over a large bowl, pour the almond mixture, gather up the cheesecloth into a ball and compress it firmly to get the most out of your mixture.  Transfer the pulp into a zip log bag and store, you can use it for adding in cookies.
  • Transfer almond milk to a bottle or a jar and refrigerate. You can store it in an airtight container for 4-5 days in the fridge or freeze it for 2-3 months.
  • Almond drink tends to separate, that's why always stir it before drinking.
  • Enjoy the silky-smooth homemade almond milk!

Notes

  • I recommend to soak almonds for 1-3 days. The longer you soak the raw almonds, the creamier your milk will be.
