Description
This easy apple crumble (apple crisp) is seriously amazing! Cinnamon tender apples baked in a delicious syrup underneath a perfectly buttery, crumbly oatmeal topping.
Ingredients
For the Filling
- Medium apples (peeled, cored and sliced)-10
- White sugar-1/4 cup
- Light brown sugar- 2 tablespoons
- All-purpose flour- 1 tablespoon
- Ground cinnamon-3/4 teaspoon
- Water- 1/4 cup
For the Crumb
- Rolled oats or quick-cooking oats- 1 1/4 cup
- All-purpose flour-1 1/4 cup
- Light brown sugar- 1 cup
- Ground cinnamon-1 teaspoon
- Baking powder-1/4 teaspoon
- Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
- Unsalted butter (melted)-3/4 cup (180 g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) with the rack in the middle of the oven. Slightly grease a 9×13-inch (22x 33-cm) baking dish. Keep aside.
- Place the sliced apples into a large bowl, add white sugar, brown sugar, all-purpose flour and cinnamon. Pour in the water and mix well to evenly coat apples. Transfer into a prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl combine the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and melted butter. Mix until the dry ingredients absorb the butter. Sprinkle evenly over the apples.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the crumb is crispy and golden brown. Enjoy!
