- 1 cup water
- 1 pound 500 grams French green beans (haricots verts), ends trimmed
- 1 teaspoon salt for salting water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons liquid honey
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- Salt and black pepper as needed
- 3 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds
- 3 tablespoons freshly grated or shaved Parmesan cheese or Grana Padano
Fill a large saute pan with 1 cup of water. Salt the water and bring to a boil.

Add the garlic, honey, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Cook until garlic is fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Remove from the heat and top with almonds and Parmesan.
