Description

Spice up your dishes with our zesty Southwest seasoning blend! A perfect mix of smoky, spicy, and savory flavors for a taste of the Southwest in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric

Instructions

  • Combine all the seasoning ingredients in a small mixing bowl and stir well.
  • Transfer the seasoning to an airtight spice jar or container with a lid. Use it immediately to season your dishes or store it in a cool, dark place for future use.

Notes

This recipe makes about 6 tablespoons, which is a bit more than 1/3 cup, or about 4 servings of 1.5 tablespoons each.

You can make it spicier by adding more cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes, or milder by using less.

Remember to give the jar a good shake before using to mix up any settled ingredients.

To keep it fresh, store your Southwest seasoning in a sealed jar in a cool, dark place like a cupboard or pantry. It's best to use it within 6 months, but it will stay good for much longer.
