Description

Elevate your appetizer game with this Smoked Salmon Dip Recipe! Creamy, flavorful, and perfect for spreading on crackers or cucumber slices. A hit at any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz. (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 6 oz. (170g) smoked salmon, chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste (optional, as smoked salmon is already salty)
  • Crackers, cucumber slices, or bagel chips for serving

Instructions

  • Combine Cream Cheese, Sour Cream and Mayonnaise: In a medium mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise together until smooth. You can use a hand mixer or a spatula for this step.
  • Add Flavorings: Stir in the lemon juice, horseradish, black pepper, and chopped dill. Mix well to ensure all the flavors are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese mixture.
  • Fold in Salmon and Onions: Gently fold in the chopped smoked salmon and green onions until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep some texture from the salmon.
  • Taste and Season: Adjust the seasoning with salt if needed, though the smoked salmon usually adds enough saltiness to the dip.
  • Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  • Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with additional dill and serve with your choice of crackers, cucumber slices, or bagel chips.

Notes

Transfer the smoked salmon dip into an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. Make sure it's tightly sealed to prevent air from entering. The dip can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.

If serving the dip at a gathering or party, place the container on a bed of ice or in a chilled serving dish to keep it cold and fresh.
