Ingredients

Scale

For The Cheese Ball

  • 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 jalapenos, finely chopped (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Ranch seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

For Coating

  • 3/4 cup chopped, roasted pecans ( or chopped pretzels)
  • 2 heaping tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 jalapenos, sliced, optional

Instructions

  • For the cheese ball: In a large mixing bowl, add the crumbled bacon (6 strips), 16 ounces of room temperature cream cheese, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese, 1 cup cheddar cheese, 3 finely chopped jalapenos, 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, 3 tablespoons ranch seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper. Use a wooden spatula to thoroughly mix all the ingredients.
  • For coating: In a separate bowl, mix 3/4 cup chopped roasted pecans, 2 heaping tablespoons of chopped parsley, the crumbled bacon (3 strips), 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, and sliced jalapenos.
  • Assemble the cheese ball: Shape the cheese mixture into a ball, then roll it over the toppings to fully coat and form an even ball.
  • Refrigerate: Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. This helps the flavors to meld and the cheese ball to firm up.
  • Serve with crackers, vegetable sticks, or any dippers of your choice.

Notes

Storage: Keep in the fridge either in an airtight container or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap. It will stay fresh for 3-4 days.
