Ingredients
Scale
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon EACH: garlic powder, onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz. marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
- 20 oz. refrigerated ravioli, uncooked. see notes
- Fresh basil leaves to garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Add it to a large skillet on medium-high heat. Cook and break it apart for 3 minutes. Then, add the seasonings and onions. Cook for 5-6 more minutes. Next, add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute or until fragrant. Get rid of extra grease. Turn the heat down to low.
- Spread 3/4 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish. Pour the remaining marinara sauce into the skillet with the meat. Add the half and half and spinach, and mix everything together. Cook for 2 minutes and then take the skillet off the heat.
- Place half of the ravioli on the bottom of the casserole dish. Spread half of the meat sauce on top of the ravioli, then sprinkle with ½ cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Layer the remaining ravioli on top, then spread the rest of the meat sauce over them, and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
- Cover the dish and bake for 35 minutes. If using foil, spray one side with non-stick cooking spray to prevent it from sticking to the cheese during baking.
- Remove the cover and broil at 450 degrees Fahrenheit to lightly brown the top. It will take just 1-2 minutes, so keep a close eye on it during this time.
- Garnish with basil leaves.
- Serve and enjoy!
