Description
Tender-crisp Steamed broccoli with toasted garlic is a simple and healthy side dish. Crisp and vibrant green broccoli on the table every time in less than 15 min. Vegan. Gluten-Free.
Ingredients
- Broccoli- 800 gm/ 1.7 lbs
- Salt - as needed
- Ground black pepper/mixed peppercorns- as needed
- FOR TOASTED GARLIC
- Garlic cloves ( sliced)-4-5
- Vegetable oil- 2 tbsp.
Instructions
- Wash the broccoli thoroughly, trim, peel and cut into spears.
- Season with salt and pepper and arrange in a single layer in a steamer basket.
- Fill a large pot with enough water to produce steam throughout the cooking time ( 5-7 cm/ 2-3 in). Bring to a boil, then place the steamer basket into the saucepan with boiling water, cover and steam the broccoli until tender, 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the broccoli from the steamer basket, adjust salt and pepper.
- In a large pan, heat oil and saute garlic until lightly browned; add the steamed broccoli and toss until well combined and hot.
- Serve immediately.
